Miraflores 28th August 2025
Miraflores was the venue for our latest game and we were kindly sponsored by a new member Jim Christie who was somewhat ambushed to sponsor when he first joined by Mandy .
This was our latest medal game and was a qualifier for November’s final with the top 2 in each of the gross and nett to go through, as you will see our gross winner would of also won the nett so the 2nd and 3rd place in the nett comp went through to the final.
On a fairly blustery day on the course it proved a difficult day for quite a few apart from our gross winner who shot a great round of 5 over.
It was good to see numbers rising again after the summer and them numbers will again rise next week with the main order of merit comp resuming. Can anyone catch Bob Sawyer????
After the main presentation there was a trophy to present to the summer mini order of merit winner Brian Wilson.

El Higueral 21st August 2025
Thursdays game was played down at El Higueral and with only 8 players this week the prizes were supplied by the society.
As its a 9 hole course we played the first 9 off the white tees and the second 9 off the yellow tees.
This course is well worth a visit for anyone who has not played it before, providing you like water on the first 3 holes.
Our winner as usual plodded his way round, never mentioning once it was too hot, course too long, greens too fast etc but when you see who the winner is you might doubt these statements.

Next week we are playing at Miraflores and numbers are starting to increase again after a quiet few weeks , when we get into September we are getting very busy especially either side of the Ryder cup which are practically full , so if you are going to play and have not emailed already, please email the society as we can try get an extra tee time if possible but this is not always guaranteed.
Santana 14th August 2025
Thursdays game was played at Santana and we were kindly sponsored by Paul Winter.
As ever Santana was in great condition especially after recent works on the course.
The course is going through a big renovation at the moment and looking what they are doing it will be even better than before with most tee boxes now renovated and alot more trees and shrubbery planted which over the next few months will come more into play.

Atalaya 7th August 2025
Atalaya New was the venue for our latest game and we were kindly sponsored by Jim Gracey and also the Mary Peters foundation, yes that Mary Peters the Olympic gold medallist, and they very kindly sponsored and added some extra prizes which some were gave out this week but some will be given out in the next few weeks including in September when we play our latest major of the year , the Open.
With only 2 groups playing this week ,yet again there was no order of merit points on offer or top 3 handicap cuts ,although our winner did get cut slightly as he came in with a great score shooting 38pts off a handicap of 3.
