As of late the course was in both magnificent condition and also played tough which was reflected in the scores which unlike previous year’s there were no scores in the 40’s with nobody even shooting 36pts.

When the cards had been checked there was only 2 pts separating the top 5 and with over 10 people playing the handicap cutting committee got to work on the top 3 places.

El Chaparral 16th July 2026

A small but merry band of golfers descended on El Chaparral last Thursday and we were kindly sponsored by Brian Wilson.

With a combination of the heat and people going home for the summer there were only 8 players this week so because of that there was no top 3 handicap cuts unless they scored above 36pts.

Back at the Red Dragon there was an intimate presentation inside with our master of ceremonies Bob Sawyer conducting a presentation only he could present which still lasted quite a while even tho there were so few there and as always there was a little rules talk as well.

Cabopino 2nd July 2026

Thursday’s game was played at Cabopino and we were kindly sponsored by Tony Sidebottom.

On a very hot and humid day the course as usual played very tough and this was reflected in the scores for most of us apart from the top 2 who managed to break the 30 point barrier.
