Miraflores 26th September 2024
Thursdays game was played at Miraflores and we were kindly sponsored by Vince Mckenna.
Despite a couple of late withdrawals we still had 29 players all keen to take on the challenge. This did prove a challenge, as the course was not in the best condition with the greens especially poor despite them being tined a few weeks ago.
With all the usual prizes up for grabs, our sponsor also donated a couple of extra ones, so we put on an extra Nearest the pin and also did a par 3 comp where all the stableford scores for the 5 par3’s were added together, this went to a countback of the last 4 holes and our winner was surprised and delighted to say the least.
Our overall winner today was met with shouts of ” If its not one , its the other ” at the presentation after his better half winning last week .

Best score on all par 3’s was Gordon Bathgate with 11pts, winning on a countback of the last 4 holes with 10pts.

Santana 19th September 2024
Santana was the venue for our latest game and we were kindly sponsored by Norman Tillbrook. We had a full house of 32 playing which was great to see on and off the course.
Norman had brought along a few extra prizes as well as the usual so we had an extra Nearest the pin and a hidden pairs prize that was drawn back at the Red Dragon.
The course was not at its best with the greens particularly slow and with this we thought the usual high scores there would not be matched, how wrong we all were although there was some slight groans when the chainsaw had come out on there handicap cuts.

Los Flamingos 12th September 2024
Last Thursday’s game was played down the coast at Los Flamingos and we were kindly sponsored by Paul Winter.
After last weeks Ryder Cup shenanigans it was back to normal this week with numbers again up after the summer. The course was in its usual good condition but on the greens proved quite tricky with them being quite slow and bumpy which meant the winning score wasn’t as high as usual.
