Torreblanca Golf Society Reports
On these pages we post each weeks reports and results, we hope you enjoy them.
Calanova GC 27th November 2024
This week’s game we were back at Calanova after quite a while and we kindly sponsored by Steve Bonsor.
Due to course availability we had to play on Wednesday but thankfully everyone turned up on the right day, well nearly everyone.
As usual the course played tough with the greens especially quick but most people were just glad to be up there for the huge shop and with it being black Friday week you probably found most of us in there.

Santana GC 21st November 2024
On Thursday we played at our home course Santana, this was just meant to be the Champion of Champions finals day and presentation of trophies but with last weeks game at Parador called off we played the delayed Medal Final as well as the Champion of Champions final. We also played our normal weekly order of merit comp.
As usual Santana was set up beautifully but like the last few games there, the tees were well back, the course played long and add in a strong breeze it was a challenging day, but at least the sun shone and temperatures were in the low 20’s.
The presentation of all the seasons trophies was held up at Santana this week where the society laid on some tapas and drinks which seemed to go down very well, especially the plates of steak for each table!
When all the cards had been checked and worked out who was in what comp, our master of ceremonies took over with Bob taking centre stage and putting on a great presentation.

El Higueral 7th November 2024
Thursdays game was played at El Higueral and we were kindly sponsored by Simon Waby who had celebrated his birthday the day before and assured us no alcohol had been drank.
With this being a 9 hole course we play off different tees on the 2 nines and this time the men played off the yellow tees first then the whites with the ladies playing the reds first then the yellows instead of the other way round like we usually do and the consensus of opinion was that everyone wanted the longer course out of the way first so next time we will go back to normal.
The course was in great condition especially the greens and if you have not played this course before it is well worth a visit.
Results from El Higueral
1st, David Allison, 35pts, playing off 14.4, now 13.8.
2nd, Gary Sparrow, 32pts, back 9 of 16pts, playing off 6.6, now 6.3.

Next week we are playing at Parador and this is our Medal Final so there will be 2 trophies up for grabs for the Gross and Net winner. For those not in the final it will still be medal and Is the first qualifier for next year’s final with the first 2 in the Gross and Net Category going through to the 2025 final as well as the 2 winners of this years final.
The week after we are at Santana and is the champion of champions final, we are full for this with a few reserves already waiting to play.
