Miraflores 29th May 2025
Miraflores was the venue for our latest game and we were kindly sponsored by the birthday boy himself John Yuill who added a couple of extra prizes as well so there was a hidden pairs comp and also a par 3 comp with the best Stapleford pts total winning.
On a fairly quiet day with no stories to tell the peace was shattered when news came through that 1 of our newest members Brian Wilson had got his first Eagle ever by holing his 3rd shot on the par 5 second hole. Of course this wasn’t the end of it as back at the dragon he told everyone numerous times about it and then the noise went even louder when the result of the par 3 comp was announced.

Santana was the venue for our latest game and was one of the most important days in our calendar as we played the society’s Passed Members day where we remember all our members who are no longer with us and we played for the Micky Gillingham shield as usual on this day.
As per the last couple of years, we stayed up at Santana afterwards where the society laid on some tapas and a drink followed by the presentation.
We were kindly sponsored by Marion English who added a couple of extra prizes so there was a couple of extra Nearest the pins and also a hidden pairs comp.

Antequera 1st May 2025
A small but merry band of “golfers” descended on Antequera for our latest game.
This was the society’s first trip here for quite some years and because it is over an hour away some decided to go up the night before and have a supposedly quiet night out there and stop over. Looking at the state of a couple of them the local wines were flowing quite well , I fact the ones that stopped there were the last to turn up.
The course let’s just say wasn’t in the best condition and was a battle of attrition to get round without running out of golf balls.
