Santa Maria 26th February 2026
Thursdays game was played at Santa Maria and we were kindly sponsored by Bob Sawyer.
Bob celebrated his birthday this week and wanted to put on a Texas Scramble which we had not played for quite a while.
We had 7 groups playing with 4 in each team and the handicaps worked out that when finished playing there was 10% of the total handicaps to take off the teams medal score.
Bob provided prizes for the teams that finished 1st & 2nd as well as 4 nearest the pins.
Back at the Red Dragon there was another birthday celebration with Martin England celebrating his 70th birthday.

Los Flamingos 19th February 2026
Thursdays game was played down the coast at Los Flamingos and we were kindly sponsored by Leigh Hopper.
After the recent bad weather we were back to normal this week , well as normal as this society gets, and after battling the usual morning chaos on the roads and nearly everyone turning up at the right place we found the course in pretty good condition with some tricky greens and pin placements.
When the cards had been checked there was 1 clear winner, with a 4 way tie for 2nd place which went to a back 9 countback.

El Higueral 12th February 2026
After our enforced 2 week winter break it was good to finally have a game this week and we played at El Higueral and we were kindly sponsored by Keith Baker.
With it being a 9 Hole course we played off different tee boxes each 9 with the men off whites then yellows and the ladies off yellows then reds.
Although the sun was shining and the temperatures up , there was a very strong wind which always seemed to be in your face when trying to get over water. Back at the Red Dragon there were various conversations about who had lost the most balls.
When everyone had “Eventually” finished and the cards been checked the presentation ceremony started to a full terrace.

Parador 22nd January 2026
Thursdays game was played at Parador and we were kindly sponsored by the returning Gordon Bathgate.
After a rain deluge on Wednesday the course was remarkably dry with the greens in very good condition even tho they had been micro tined.
On a typical Parador day the course as ever was its usual tough self and add in a stiff breeze especially on the back 9 it was reflected in the final scores when all the cards were in and counted.

Santa Maria 15 January 2026
Santa Maria was the venue for our latest game and we were kindly sponsored by last weeks winner Vince Mckenna.
After a little overnight rain the course was a bit wet in places however the greens held up well and were surprisingly quick on certain holes.
There were some good scores in but the winner in the end won by a comfortable 3 pts and booked there place already in the end of season final.

Santana 8th January 2026
Our first game of the year and the new season was played at Santana and we were kindly sponsored by Steve Thomas.
For once our usual first tee time of 10.00 wasn’t available so it was an early start for everyone with the first group going off in some sort of light and very cool temperatures at 8.30.
After the recent bad weather the course was in remarkably good condition, but as always now it plays that bit longer and once you got to the green there were some tricky pin positions.
