Cabopino 3rd September 2026
Our first game of September took us to Cabopino and our sponsor was a good friend of the society Jim Gracey who sadly passed away a couple of months ago.
Those who knew Jim knew that he was a director of the Mary Peters Trust set up by the Olympic gold medalist. Whenever Jim was over and sponsored he use to kindly bring us some extra prizes. We were informed by Mandy that there were some extra prizes but with so few players this week we decided to put them on next week when we play Parador which is our last major of the year and also we have a full quota of players.
As usual Cabopino was in great condition but played its usual tough self. With so few players this week it was decided not too play for handicap cuts especially with the scores quite low.

1st, Don Crowley, 30pts, back 9 of 19pts, playing off 20.5.
2nd, Ashley Pearson, 30pts, back 9 of 17pts, playing off 11.9.
3rd, Marion English, 28pts, playing off 25.5.

Nearest the pin in One on Hole 13, Don Crowley.
Nearest the pin in One on Hole 15 , Jonathan Furlong.
We also presented Steve Bonsor his trophy for winning the 2 month summer mini order of merit.
Next week we play our last major of the year at Parador with the first tee time at 10.00.
As well as the presentation back at the Red Dragon the 1st day pairings and tee times for the ryder cup will be revealed by the 2 captains.
